After the demise of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Gopala Bhatta Gosvami felt detachment from the lord so that Lord Krishna appeared in the dream to reduce his grief. Gopala Bhatta Gosvami took a sacred bath on the Kali-Gandaki River in Nepal. Gopala Bhatta Gosvami found twelve Shaligrama Shilas while taking a dip in the holy water.
