Those in affected areas were encouraged to boil water before consuming. There are also stations where water bottles are being handed out for free.

Offered for free, the water bottles are located at:

  • The corner of Iberia Ct. and Space Center Ct. in Jurupa Valley.
  • The Northeast corner of Camino Real and Mission Blvd. in Jurupa Valley.
  • JCSD’s Headquarters at 11201 Harrel Street in Jurupa Valley.

More than 1,000 cases of water were delivered on Friday and 2,000 more are expected to be given out on Saturday.

Collected on Wednesday, the sample was collected before the disinfection process and the water source was removed from the system after the positive reading.

It’s not clear how long the warning will last. The results from samples taken on Thursday and Friday will be released sometime Saturday, the district said.

According to the district, bathing, showering and hand washing are safe, even in the affected areas, though individuals must be careful to avoid swallowing any water. Those in affected areas should avoid using coffee makers and dishwashers that lack a sanitize sample. It is not safe to give the affected water to pets.
