The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department took a DUI suspect into custody after a pursuit that lasted one minute in South L.A.

According to LASD, deputies first observed the vehicle just before 12:15 a.m. Sunday on 170th Street.

After a brief pursuit – 60 seconds to be exact, LASD said – the suspect was detained.

A second suspect fled the area and remained outstanding as of later Sunday morning.

Residents were advised to stay in their homes while authorities combed the area for the second suspect.

Video from the scene posted to the Citizen App shows the stopped vehicle in front of a squad car with its trunk open while helicopters circled overhead searching for the suspect.

As of 8:30 a.m. Sunday, they remained outstanding, LASD confirmed.
