The best boutique hotels in Copenhagen

Advice

All hotels have been independently reviewed and selected. We will earn a commission if you book via the links below, but this never affects our rating.

If you were asked to design, from scratch, the perfect capital city, it could easily end up looking remarkably like Copenhagen. Not too big, not too small, with a happy blend of old and new architecture, and plenty of green and blue spaces in between. More than enough cultural attractions to keep you busy (but not so many that you feel overwhelmed); a vibrant restaurant scene; sandy beaches within easy reach… the pluses go on and on.

And then, of course, there’s the renowned Danish eye for design and famed love of hygge, which come together beautifully in the city’s best places to stay. Over the past decade or two there’s been a welcome boom in characterful boutique hotels, smaller properties that offer a winning combination of cool and cosy, chic and welcoming. Whether you fancy classic Scandi decor, striking industrial minimalism or an eclectic boho vibe, here’s our pick of the best boutique hotels in Copenhagen.

How we review
