A rollover crash Sunday in the Mid-City neighborhood of Los Angeles sent five people to the hospital, several of whom were in critical or serious condition, authorities confirmed to KTLA.

Crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the 4700 block of Venice Boulevard on reports of the two-vehicle collision, according to an LAFD news release.

At the scene, firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to extract one person from the dark-colored vehicle that rolled on its side during the crash.

A heavy presence of first responders and police were seen in video of the incident posted to the Citizen app.

A crew of firefighters worked to cut a portion of the dark-colored vehicle’s roof off to access the person trapped inside.

In all there were six patients, including a 51-year-old man who was taken to the hospital in serious condition and two women, 51-year-old and 62-year-old, in critical condition. Two other females, a 40-year-old and a 13-year-old suffered moderate injuries, LAFD said.

A 46-year-old man who suffered only minor injuries refused transport to the hospital.

It is unknown if alcohol and or drugs may have been a factor in the collision. No further details were provided.
