Four of the six children who were reported missing in New York City last week have been found safe, according to the NYPD. But two remain missing as police continue to investigate.
The six children range in age from 12 to 17 and were reported missing across the city from April 7 through last Thursday in a spate of disappearances, including a few where the subjects were last seen heading to or from school.
As of Monday morning, 14-year-old Karina Brito and 17-year-old Julissa Rodriguez — who both live in the Bronx — still had not been found, an NYPD spokesperson told Gothamist.
Brito was last seen around 5 p.m. last Wednesday, leaving home in Soundview and wearing a gray sweatsuit and black sneakers, police said. She is believed to be about 5 foot 7 inches tall, weigh 150 pounds and have black hair.

Rodriguez was last seen on the evening of April 7, wearing a tan crop top, blue jeans and black sneakers, according to NYPD officials. She lives in Castle Hill and is about 5 foot 3 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds.

Police said the other four children were found since last Friday, when 13-year-olds Luciante Chaudry and Jamel Coleman were found on Staten Island and returning home in the Bronx, respectively. Soundview resident Zyava Smith, 14, was found by her father on Saturday at her friend’s house, according to the NYPD. Victorious Smith, 12, was found on Sunday, though the NYPD spokesperson did not say how.
The NYPD asked anyone with information on Brito’s and Rodriguez’s whereabouts to call its Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). People can also submit tips online at the Crime Stoppers website or via social media platform X by contacting @NYPDTips.
