Two people were killed in a rollover crash during a police pursuit in Pomona Friday night.

The chase began on the 71 Freeway shortly before 5 p.m. before the suspects transitioned to other freeways and nearby surface streets.

Four suspects were inside the black BMW SUV, according to California Highway Patrol.

At one point, the suspects drove the wrong way on the westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway.

During the chase, the driver lost control and struck a dirt berm, causing the vehicle to roll over several times before landing on a transition road in the opposite lanes.

Two people were ejected from the vehicle during the impact. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The two surviving suspects fled the crash on foot before officers eventually located them and took them into custody.

It’s unclear what the suspects were initially wanted for and their identities were not released as the investigation remains ongoing.
