He’s a native Cuban and an award-winning international journalist. Clemente Nicado’s assignments have taken him around the world. 

But now he’s the visionary creator of a monthly news platform for the growing Latino business community.  

Nicado started his own publishing company in 2006.  With the help of his American-born wife, Nicado launched “Negocios Now,” Spanish for “Business Now. It was the first of many Spanish-language publications he founded that serve the expanding Latino business community. 

The monthly news magazine spawned the wildly popular 40 Under 40 Gala, a celebration that honors Chicago’s top young business leaders. 

His other Spanish-language publications include “El Viajero,” a print magazine for travelers that offers information and discounts to interesting destinations.  Another publication focuses on Chicago’s Latino real estate market.

The Chicago Tribune hired Nicado to launch the ground-breaking Spanish-language daily, known as “Hoy.”
