Nassau County police fatally shot a man after a wild car chase from Queens that injured several officers.

The suspect, who NYPD officers had tried to pull over in Jamaica shortly after 11 p.m. Friday, almost ran over two cops while fleeing, authorities said. 

The driver sped over to Nassau County, where cops tried to box him in, but he evaded the officers again. Authorities said that the suspect nearly mowed down the Nassau County officers who tried to block his escape.

The chase ended after the suspect, not immediately identified, drove the wrong way on the Sunrise Highway, ramming police and civilian cars before losing control and crashing in Massapequa. He refused to exit the car and surrender, Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said at a news conference Saturday morning, and a shootout ensued.

The police commissioner told reporters that seven police officers and one civilian were all being treated for their injuries sustained during the traffic-stop-turned-car-chase.

The department was looking at sources of surveillance footage to piece the chaotic events together, and the investigation was ongoing, he said.
