A teenage boy was shot to death in South Lawndale Friday night, police said.
The boy, 16, was in the 2400 block of South Trumbull Avenue around 11:20 p.m. when police found him while responding to a call of shots fired, according to Chicago police. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the back.
He was initially listed in critical condition then died at the hospital, police said.
No one is in custody. A witness told police a group of men fled the scene after the shooting.
Area Four detectives are investigating.
