A massive matchup between two of California’s top-10 high school football teams is deserving of a big stage, and now that’s set to be brought to fruition.

As part of SoFi Stadium’s Friday Night Lights Series presented by LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk, this season’s annual Trinity League game between Servite High School and St. John Bosco High School will be held at the multi-billion dollar home of the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers.

The game will take place on Friday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m.

“We are pleased to welcome both Servite High School and St. John Bosco High School to SoFi Stadium as a continuation of Friday Night Lights presented by LA Bowl Hosted By Gronk,” said Adolfo Romero, executive director for LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk. “This event highlights not only the talent of these student-athletes, but also the spirit of brotherhood and tradition that these two esteemed football programs represent. We are honored to provide a global stage for the Brotherhood Bowl creating a memorable experience for the players, coaches, and fans alike.”

This year’s Brotherhood Bowl should be highly anticipated, as both teams rank in the top 10 of California’s high school football rankings according to MaxPreps.

Both squads are on track to potentially meet for a battle between unbeaten schools. Bosco, ranked No. 3 in the state as of Friday, is 4-0 after convincing victories over Sierra Canyon and Junipero Serra.

“It is an honor to officially partner with the Servite Friars for this year’s Brotherhood Bowl to be played at SoFi Stadium,” St. John Bosco coach Jason Negro said. “The brotherhood shown by both schools to make this happen has been truly amazing and a testament to our commitment to our schools’ communities.”

The Bellflower-based squad has a couple of Trinity League tests before the Brotherhood Bowl, with games with No. 6 Orange Lutheran and No. 7 Santa Margarita in the two weeks prior.

No. 10 Servite, on the other hand, has an easier path to an unbeaten record for the Brotherhood Bowl with games scheduled against St. Paul and JSerra Catholic in the weeks to come. Servite is 4-0 as of Friday with signature wins over No. 17 Murrieta Valley and Chaminade.

“We are thrilled with the opportunity for our team to compete against a fellow all-boys school in a world-class venue,” Servite coach Chris Reinert said. “Our young men will have the chance to create a memory of a lifetime with their teammates on the same field as the Rams and the Chargers. We are extremely grateful for the chance to represent the Trinity League as the first two programs to play at SoFi Stadium.”

The two schools have played annually since 1999. They’ve combined for nine CIF and six state championships.

As of Friday, two other high school games are scheduled to be played at SoFi Stadium. They include a matchup between Mission Viejo and Long Beach Poly on Oct. 4, and the East L.A. Classic between Garfield and Roosevelt on Oct. 25.
