The result of the play led to another concussion for the signal caller. The storylines that have filled the last few days have run the gamut of people calling for the young quarterback to retire. However, Tagovailoa revealed that he has no intention of hanging it up.
Though concussion protocol is the same for every player, Tagovailoa is definitely a unique situation. He could be out for a few weeks, or even longer depending on what doctors say. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel has now offered an update on how long Tagovailoa might be out.
When speaking to reporters, McDaniel stated there is “not enough information” to determine an IR stint for Tagovailoa. If he is placed on IR, that would mean the Dolphins quarterback will be out for at least four games.
The last time that Tagovailoa experienced a concussion in this manner led to his being shut down for the rest of the regular season in 2022, which included three regular season games and the playoffs.
