Homicide investigators are looking into an early morning shooting that left one woman dead in Lynwood.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded to the 12500 block of Oak Street on Sunday after receiving a call of gunshots heard in the neighborhood.

Around 5:43 a.m., they found a woman estimated in her late 30s or early 40s suffering from gunshot wounds.

L.A. County Fire paramedics responded but unfortunately pronounced her dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the victim was shot several hours before deputies found her.

Lt. Steve Dejong with the Homicide Bureau told KTLA they are asking any residents in the neighborhood who may have seen or heard anything to call, especially those with camera systems or Ring cameras.
