The Bears could play Sunday night’s game without two of their top three receivers. Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze are both questionable for the Texans game.

Allen didn’t practice Friday for the third-straight day as he deals with a heel injury that the team characterized as the result of a shoe issue last month. Allen missed the final four games of last season with a pedal heel bruise.

Odunze, who suffered a Grade 1 MCL sprain in his left knee in the season opener, returned to practice but was limited. Coach Matt Eberflus described the malady as “nothing serious” on Wednesday, but it’s unclear why the Bears would want to push Odunze on a turf field in just his second career game.

The Bears hoped rest would help Allen’s heel when they decided to sit him out of practice starting Wednesday. He rode a stationary bike during Thursday’s practice but wasn’t spotted Friday during the portion of practice open to the media.

The Bears ruled out guard Ryan Bates (shoulder/elbow) and fullback Khari Blasingame (hand/knee). Bates shared snaps with Nate Davis at right guard last week.

Defensive end DeMarcus Walker (foot) was a full participant Friday but was ruled as questionable.
