Monday Night Raw has been the premiere show for WWE since it debuted on Jan. 11, 1993.

Now, 32 seasons and 1,635 episodes later, Raw is making the move to Netflix after spending the majority of its tenure on the USA Network.

However, it looks like WWE still has big plans for Raw before the move, with a legendary professional wrestler making a long-awaited return to the program.

Recently, Canadian sports broadcaster Jackie Redmond, known for her commentary on WWE and the NHL, reported that the Excellence of Execution will be on WWE Monday Night Raw for its “season premiere” on Sept. 9, 2024.

“I can officially confirm that Canadian LEGEND, Bret The Hitman Hart, will be in attendance this Monday for the season premiere of [WWE Raw] at the Saddledome in Calgary,” Redmond said on social media. “Break out your pink and let’s rock!”

This was further confirmed by WWE’s chief content officer and head of creative Triple H on X.

“When in Hart country…” Triple H wrote. “[Bret Hart] joins us for [WWE Monday Night Raw]’s massive season premiere, this Monday at 8/7c LIVE from Calgary on [USA Network]. You definitely won’t want to miss this.”

While there’s no confirmation regarding how Hart will participate, there have been rumors that he’ll somehow be involved with Gunther, the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

This will be The Hitman’s first appearance on Raw in nine years. However, he has appeared on other wrestling programs since then.

Hart was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019 and was seen in the crowd during Clash at the Castle in 2022.

Additionally, Hart made an appearance in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) when he unveiled the AEW Championship title belt for the first time at Double or Nothing (2019). It was eventually won by Chris Jericho.

Part of the legendary Hart Wrestling Family, Bret Hart made his professional wrestling debut with Stampede Wrestling, his father’s promotion, in 1978 after a wrestler was unable to perform his match.

In 1986, Hart left Stampede Wrestling for the World Wrestling Federation, now WWE. Soon, he joined manager Jimmy Hart and brother-in-law Jim Neidhart in The Hart Foundation, winning the WWF Tag Team Championship twice.

Hart would be involved in multiple iconic storylines and rivalries, earning the Intercontinental Championship and WWF Championship multiple times.

Hart then joined World Championship Wrestling, where he would continue to be a main event attraction and win multiple championships.

Unfortunately, Hart’s in-ring career came to an abrupt end when he was given a concussion from a thrust kick delivered by Goldberg. Much worse than it initially appeared, Hart retired from professional wrestling on Oct. 26, 2000.

Throughout his career, Hart won the WWF Championship five times, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship twice, the Intercontinental Championship twice, the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship five times, and the WWE United States Championship once.

Hart also won the King of the Ring tournament twice (1991, and 1993) and the Royal Rumble once (1994).
