CHICAGO – Bears fan arrived early at Soldier Field Sunday for the home opener and first game of the Caleb Williams era.

“The excitement is an all time high. It’s a new era, new dynasty,” said Bears fan Manish Salwam.

“You know when you go down a roller coaster, you get that tickle in your stomach? That’s what it is today,” proclaimed Bears fan Par Patel.

Many fans were eager to see the debut of rookie quarterback Williams, as well as other new additions to the team.

“We got some other weapons to help the quarterback, help assist. We’re looking forward to winning,” Bears fan Shawn Adeoye said.

“I think it’s looking good. Excited to see the quarterback play today. It’s going to be a good game,” Bears fan Jeremy Gravelle exclaimed.

Some fans even went as far to say this is the most confidence they’ve had in the team in years.

“We got a great GM, a new quarterback, finally start seeing things turn around here. So I think this might be the time,” Salwam said.

Anticipation had been building for Sunday’s game after a long offseason that saw the Bears draft Williams with the No. 1 overall pick. The game was especially meaningful as it also paid tribute to Bears legend Steve McMichael, who is battling ALS, in honor of his recent Hall of Fame induction.

“Minus what’s going on, which stinks, but he’s the Bears. Mongo McMichael,” Bears fan Jim Lillis said.

The Bears finished the preseason undefeated and brought that energy to Sunday’s game, securing a 24-17 win over the Tennessee Titans after a big comeback in the second half.
