While it was national news that the DNC refused to allow a Palestinian voice on the main stage, there were other notable absences. The silence as to criminal justice made it seem as if the Black Lives Matter movement and calls for abolishing, defunding, or even just reimagining the police, never happened. Listening to the speakers it appeared that the DNC’s sole concern is the need for more and tougher prosecutors.
