AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin area may not produce the sheer number of major college athletes as Houston or Dallas but it shouldn’t be overlooked.

Plenty of talented players make up some of the better football teams in the state. While there is a lot of talent, we were interested in finding the best.

For the second year in a row, KXAN asked all the high school players and coaches we spoke with who is the best player in the area not on your team.

The answers were far from unanimous but wide receivers Ed Small of Anderson and Adrian Wilson of Weiss were the most popular. Small has committed to TCU while Wilson has committed to Arizona State. The full video is attached above.

The season kicks off Thursday night on the KXAN family of networks with Taco Shack Bowl on the CW Austin and Westlake will open their campaign on KBVO.
