CHICAGO — Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man in connection with a shooting at a South Loop diner.
The shooting happened just before 3 a.m. on Aug. 23 at the White Palace Grill, located at 1159 South Canal Street.
According to police, a 42-year-old man was inside the diner and as he was walking out, another man fired gunshots. The victim was shot multiple times and the offender fled the scene nortbound in a silver Ford Focus.
The shooting happened while delegates, who had just attended the Democratic National Convention earlier that evening, were dining.
The man is wanted by police for aggravated battery with a firearm in connection to the diner shooting.
Police describe the offender as a Black man between 25-35 years old, 5’7″-5’11” and 150-200 pounds. He was seen wearing a blue ball cap, black T-shirt with “OFFICER” printed in white letters, a black vest, an unknown bronze in color security badge on his right hip, blue jeans with black and gold stripe along the seam, and white gym shoes.
