After five years of marriage and nearly a decade into their relationship, Brittany Cartwright has filed for divorce from fellow “Vanderpump Rules” alum Jax Taylor.

Cartwright, 35, filed for divorce on Tuesday, just over a week after 45-year-old Taylor left inpatient treatment to address his mental health, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ.

Cartwright cited irreconcilable differences as the basis of “The Valley” stars’ split. She listed their official date of separation as Jan. 24 of this year, just over a month before announcing the news of their separation.

Cartwright is seeking primary legal and physical custody of the couple’s 3-year-old son, Cruz, but asking for Taylor to get visitation rights. She’s also requesting the court not award spousal support to either party.

On the Feb. 29 episode of their podcast, “When Reality Hits,” Cartwright confirmed the pair had been “taking time apart,” adding she had moved “into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”

The couple had been together since 2015 and, following a year-long engagement, wed in June 2019.

In December 2020, Bravo confirmed “Vanderpump Rules” had parted ways with the duo amid allegations of Taylor’s past racist behavior. They returned to TV in the network’s new reality series “The Valley” earlier this year, but had separated by the season 1 finale.
