CHICAGO — Pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered for several hours before a planned march to the site of the Democratic National Convention Thursday.

As the crowd swelled at Union Park, a single confrontation unfolded between the Chicago Coalition for Justice in Palestine (CCJP) and agitators, where protestors from the rally surrounded them and started chanting, “Racists go home.”

The confrontation spilled briefly into a nearby street before Chicago police dispersed the incident.

No arrests have been reported from confrontation.

According to CCJP leadership, they planned to march on the DNC and take their message as close as they can to the United Center.

Former Republican candidate for president, Vivek Ramaswamy, also made an appearance at Union Park before the march.

Ramaswamy could be seen intermingling and having conversations with protestors in the crowd, and told assembled media what the protestors are fighting for, is what Democrats in power stand in the way of.

One of the main organizers told WGN News that may be true, but in no uncertain terms, will he vote for Donald Trump.

The march was scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. CT.
