CHICAGO — The Democratic National Convention has reached the halfway point and Wednesday night Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will accept his party’s nomination for vice president.

Former president Bill Clinton is also expected to speak Wednesday evening.

It follows a day of speeches from Barack Obama, Michelle Obama and second gentleman Doug Emhoff. Additionally, Gov. JB Pritzker and Democratic Sen. Tammy gave Illinois a staring role in Tuesday night’s convention proceedings.

Also Tuesday, protestors in the West Loop confronted police during a demonstration outside the Israeli Consulate.

It’s all leading up to Thursday, the final day of the convention in which Vice President Kamala Harris will accept the nomination for president.
