A man was shot and killed in central San Jose early Saturday morning, the city’s 20th homicide this year, police said.
At around 3:18 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at a business in the 900 block of McLaughlin Avenue, near the highway interchange connecting Highway 101 and Interstates 680 and 280.
Upon arrival, police found the man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The unknown suspect fled before the officer’s arrival. Authorities are investigating the shooting and declined to provide additional details.
The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office plans to release the victim’s identity after notifying his family.
