American Horror Story star Emma Roberts has been dating actor Cody John for years. The couple went public with their relationship in August 2022, and while they sometimes document their moments together on social media, they are otherwise private.

Roberts shares a son, Rhodes, with her ex-boyfriend, Garrett Hedlund. News of their breakup came out in January 2022. Her personal life going well since then has helped their co-parenting relationship.

John announced his relationship with Roberts in an Aug. 25, 2022 Instagram. He posted a black-and-white photo of them kissing on a yacht, writing, “sweet sweet” in the caption. A source told Entertainment Tonight in October 2022 that they began dating over the summer.

“She’s been very content with Cody, and they’re enjoying their relationship and time together,” the insider said. “Their friends and family are happy for the both of them and think they make a great couple.”

Roberts became publicly single in January 2022. In May 2022, Entertainment Tonight reported that Roberts had “been dating and doing her own thing” following her split from her ex Hedlund.

John then made his debut on Roberts’ Instagram that New Year’s Eve. The actress shared some photos to celebrate the year that she had, and she started the carousel with a picture of them walking together, hand-in-hand.

The following month, for John’s birthday on March 8, Roberts shared a selfie of them riding in a helicopter.

She referenced his caption in hers, writing, “happy birthday sheesh 🫠️.”

John made a birthday post for Roberts that year, too. He posted a black-and-white selfie of him kissing Roberts’ cheek while she smiled at the camera.

Roberts and John went to Coachella together in 2023.

Roberts and John were photographed holding hands at Coachella in April 2023. They wore casual outfits, with Roberts in an oversized white button-up over black shorts. She added black-and-white booties and tinted sunglasses. John, meanwhile, wore a tan utility jacket with black pants and gray Converse sneakers.

In March 2024, they attended a Lacoste fashion show together.

On March 5, John and Roberts had a date night in Paris. They went to the Lacoste womenswear fall/winter 2024-2025 fashion show and took some photos together. In one picture, Roberts beamed while looking up at her boyfriend.
