Kids only seemed to want to watch one show on Netflix in the latter half of 2023.

The streamer’s latest data dump – read more here – reveals that episodes of Moonbug Entertainment‘s CoComelon were watched more than 200 million times from July to December, with all eight seasons appearing in the top 100.

The figure is difficult to compare with other shows due to the fact that episodes of CoComelon are so short – coming in at only a few minutes each – but taken together it is likely the highest number of any show in the top 100 across all seasons. The eighth season of CoComelon alone was watched 37.6 million times and most seasons feature in the top 50.

Starting life on YouTube, the show features children, adults and animals who sing songs and nursery rhymes and go about their daily lives. It has been a huge success for Candle Media-owned Moonbug, which has expanded rapidly since its launch, birthing the likes of Blippi and Little Baby Bum.

Speaking to Deadline earlier this year, Moonbug EMEA boss Nicolas Eglau said the company’s push into the older children’s space was being inspired by the huge success of slightly older-skewing versions of CoComelon that had being performing well on Netflix.  “This content has the ability to deliver values in a playful and fun way, so we take it very seriously,” he said at the time.

No other kids shows came close to CoComelon. The eighth season of Gabby’s Dollhouse the next highest with 90 million views across several seasons.
