Clint Eastwood is one of Hollywood’s classic tough guys. For over 60 years - and more than 50 films - he's thrilled audiences with his portrayal of cool, masculine characters, such as the “Man with No Name” in the 1960s Spaghetti Western Dollars Trilogy and as San Francisco Police Inspector Harry Callahan in five Dirty Harry films throughout the 1970s and '80s.
Eastwood has also directed over 30 films, many of which are his own. He's consistently produced box office successes as an actor, director and producer, but that may soon be coming to an end. It's been reported that Eastwood is set to make his final film, and this is what we know about it.
Details of Clint Eastwood’s final film
Clint Eastwood’s final project is set to be produced by Warner Bros., a studio he's worked with for decades. Since the 2008 release of Gran Torino, he's strictly worked with the movie studio and produced 10 films with them, including American Sniper (2014), Sully (2016) and, most recently, Cry Macho (2021).
Eastwood's final film is said to be a thriller titled Juror #2. The story will follow a juror during a murder trial who realizes he was the cause of the victim’s death and how he struggles with the dilemma of either saving himself or revealing the truth. No date has been set for the start of filming and no roles have been cast. Eastwood is apparently looking at a young star for the lead role - who that will be, however, is not yet known.
Sources say Eastwood will be directing the film, but no one can guarantee it will be his last. Eastwood himself has said nothing of retiring, and it's possible more movies may follow Juror #2. That being said, at the age of 92, Discussing Film has reported that his plan is to retire in the near future.

Clint Eastwood’s acting career
Clint Eastwood’s first acting job was on the CBS Western television program, Rawhide (1959-65). Throughout the mid and late 1950s, he appeared, often uncredited, in various films, including Revenge of the Creature (1955), Away All Boats (1956) and Escapade in Japan (1957).
The 1960s saw Eastwood's star begin to rise with his role as the “Man with No Name” in Sergio Leone Italian-made Westerns. The first, A Fistful of Dollars, was released in 1964, and was followed by For a Few Dollars More (1965) and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966).
In 1971, Eastwood took on the role of Inspector Harry Callahan in Dirty Harry. The character was a continual presence in the actor’s life and he reprised the role four times, the last being in 1988's The Dead Pool. Eastwood also made his directorial debut in 1971 with Play Misty for Me.
Eastwood has enjoyed a wide range of roles during his career. As an actor, he's portrayed cops, cowboys, soldiers and astronauts. As a director and producer, he's played an impactful role behind the camera.
Mr. Mayor
Outside of acting, Clint Eastwood has never shied away from talking about politics. That being said, some people don’t know he was the mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California from 1986-88. Winning by a landslide, he had many accomplishments while in office, including making it legal to eat ice cream on city streets.
During his term in office, Eastwood made $200 a month, all of which was donated to a local youth center. He also attended all weekly council meetings, which often saw him fly in from movie sets. He didn't run for re-election, saying he wanted to spend more time with his children.
Clint Eastwood as a musician
In addition to politics, Clint Eastwood has also branched out into music. While he never made it as a performing musician, he has brought his love of music into his movies. He was responsible for the film scores of several releases, including Mystic River (2003), Million Dollar Baby (2004), Flags of Our Fathers (2006) and J. Edgar (2011).
Eastwood has also performed some of his compositions in his own films. He can be seen playing the piano in scenes from In the Line of Fire (1993), and he also performed the closing theme of Gran Torino.
