The free-to-play version Blizzard WoTLK Gold entertainment's chart-topping massively multiplayer online multiplayer game World of Warcraft "makes sense" at some point as the lead designer Tom Chilton has said.

Speaking to Polygon, Chilton said Blizzard Tainment is not against the idea of morphing the subscription-based game into free-to-play, but continues to have issues with the switch to business mode.

"For Blizzard, it makes sense to move to free-to-play at some time," Chilton said. "But most of the risk is in making that switch. We hear about developers going for free-to-play and gaining more players However, you do not always understand why it works in this manner and how long it stays in that manner. We're still not certain of the current rate is prior to when people drop off and lose interest."

World of Warcraft is the largest subscription-based MMO game on the market. It was launched in 2004. It was home to 7.7 million players as of June 30.

The week before, Bethesda announced that its coming fantasy MMO game The Elder Scrolls Online will include a fee of $15/month for subscription.

In the interview Chilton said the casual-themed Mists of Pandaria expansion for World of Warcraft , released in September 2012. has proven "very success" for Blizzard entertainment. The game would have suffered if the company hadn't launched it, Chilton said.

"We could have been in dire straits had we not taken that action," Chilton said.

He acknowledged that some players believed that the expansion was an omission from World of Warcraft 's roots however, he said it was necessary to buy WoTLK Classic Gold grow and improve the game.
