Hugh Jackman, Deborra-Lee Furness’s former mansion lists for $40M

Real Estate

An Australian estate that the “Wolverine” star Hugh Jackman and his now-former wife once rented will soon be for sale for a cool $40 million.

A palatial property in Woollahra, a suburb of Sydney, is set to hit the market in the near future, according to the Wentworth Courier.

Among its past residents are Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness, who recently split after 27 years of marriage.

Jackman, 54, and Furness, 67 — both of whom hail from Down Under — rented the enormous abode from the current seller, James Dack, a local real estate legend known for his rags-to-riches tale, according to the outlet.

Dack and his wife, Mary Cowin Dack, daughter of Aussie fast food franchise founder and billionaire Jack Cowin, purchased the property in 2011 for $10.6 million.

Jackman and Furness called the house home back in 2008, and while it’s unclear how much they paid for the privilege, it listed soon after for an eye-watering $5,000 a week, the publication reported.

The mansion is set to hit the market in the near future for $40 million.
The property has a tennis court and a pool.

Located at 38-40 Wallaroy Road, the address boasts five bedrooms and six bathrooms. There’s a double garage, a pool, a poolside cabana, an entrance hall and a tennis court among other amenities.

Hidden from the street, the residence is spread across two levels and features a kitchen equipped with a Liebherr fridge, a Miele dishwasher and a butler’s pantry — and elsewhere, manicured lawns galore and numerous living spaces.

Aesthetically, it is meant to resemble a European villa, although the interior is fairly straightforward in its modernity, save the indoor-outdoor aspects and a few arched doorways.

The couple announced their shock separation last month, telling People at the time, “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness.”

They emphasized in the statement that, though they are going their separate ways, they cherish the years they spent together.

“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the couple said.
