For those of you who own multiple real estate assets i’m sure the thought of selling has come to your mind. You are seeing insane amounts of equity being built into those assets and you start running your calculations of how fat your bank account will look.
The housing market is in a crisis. Supply is at all time low and demand is on fire. Home builders can’t keep up with the demand and motivated home buyers are flocking to buy whatever they can due to low mortgage interest rates. Now could never be a better time to sell. However, what happens if you choose to sell your personal home in a hot market like this? Where will you go? Don’t you have to also buy in this hot market? What happens if you choose to sell your real estate investments? Will you just pay the capital gains tax on them? Will you 1031 that money? Will you just stare at that many? So many decisions you have to make before taking the action. Many home owners that I personally know ask me if they should sell and just go rent a home until things “cool off”. They want to cash in on that equity then re-enter the markets when things cool off. The issue is, how long will that take?
In this video I share with you my thoughts on selling your assets during a hot market. I share with you what i’m doing, what my clients are doing and what you could possibly do.
