Seattle Theatre Group’s new Carnation concert venue at Remlinger Farms opened Friday with a solid three-band bill led by Northwest alt-rockers Portugal. The Man and Bomba Estéreo. The new Concerts at the Farm series is set to bring music greats like Elvis Costello (June 6), Parliament Funkadelic (June 15) and Blondie (Aug. 23) and up to 6,000 fans per show out to the 350-acre farm in rural King County this summer.

While the largest new addition to the Seattle area’s live music landscape was highly anticipated among fans, some in the Carnation area are concerned about how the influx of concertgoers will impact their pastoral piece of the Snoqualmie Valley.
