Candace Owens Doubles Down on Porn Comments

Candace Owens has reiterated her condemnation of pornography, after her post calling for it to be banned went viral on social media.

“Ban pornography,” the former Daily Wire personality wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday. “It is a psychological weapon intended to weaken our men.”

The post, which as of press time has garnered more than 7 million views, sparked a debate on the microblogging platform, prompting Owens to defend her stance.

One X user who disagreed with the conservative commentator wrote: “Pornography is a First Amendment Free Speech Right.”

“Pornography was created as a tool of enslavement, not freedom,” Owens countered. “It was created by the most depraved among our human race to [psychologically] introduce homosexuality, pedophilia and incest—religious sacraments to Satanists BAN IT & stigmatize every person who defends or profits from it.”

In a follow-up post, Owens went on to discuss men who have become addicted to consuming pornographic material.

“I also want to say to the men that struggle with pornography—you were the intended victims of it,” she wrote. “Don’t feel ashamed talking about it. Knowing that it’s wrong is a great first step. There are a ton of podcasters who do work in this space and can help. Matt Fradd of [the podcast] Pints with Aquinas is one of them.”

Another X user told Owens: “Porn was the start of all of my families problems. My dad went to prison for 12 yrs. My parents got divorced because of that and I don’t talk to half of my family. If my dad had never been exposed to porn at an early age, he wouldn’t have abused minors. Porn is the devil.”

“I’m sorry to hear this. An important story to share,” Owens responded, in part. “Yes—pornography is a psychological, spiritual weapon meant to deprave the tastes of men and women.”

Owens added that, “Communist Satanists run the Western world. The Bolsheviks were never tried because they emigrated West. They brought feminism, pornography, propaganda, and demented psychology as tools to crush the nations which opened their doors to them. Learn real history. They are targeting our children, men, and ultimately families via psychological violence.

“We either snap out of this cultural hypnosis, stop seeing things as ‘left vs. right’ and start fighting as ‘team God’ vs. ‘team Satan,’ or we lose. That’s the reality we now face.”

When contacted for comment on, a representative of Owens referred Newsweek to the podcaster’s social media posts.

Owens, who recently announced that she had converted to Catholicism, has spoken out against pornography and public nudity on a number of occasions.

In a podcast clip titled “Kim Kardashian Should Be Kicked Off Instagram,” which debuted on YouTube in September 2022, Owens addressed Instagram’s decision to permanently remove the account of pornographic website Pornhub.

While the image-sharing app cited repeated violations of parent company Meta‘s policies, Owens questioned why Kardashian should keep hers.

“I am actually for the first time going to be Team Pornhub on this,” Owens said on her podcast. “Porn is actually everywhere. We’re just deciding which standard of porn we’re willing to accept.

“Yes, Kim Kardashian posts nude photos all the time, barely covering her nipples, barely covering her private parts, and somehow it’s allowed to stand.”

Owens also criticized the racy images Madonna has shared on the platform, adding: “All that’s allowed on Instagram. As long as you don’t show the nipple, you can put whatever pornography that you basically want on Instagram.

“So why come down on the sex workers, who don’t make as much money as the billionaire Kardashians, who don’t make as much money as Madonna? Why are we coming down [on them]? There either needs to be a real standard, or there should be no double standards.

“We just need to have a real standard to not allow pornography on the internet. So I’m interested to see where that is going to go. Obviously, we know where it’s going to go. Kim Kardashian will be protected, Madonna will be protected, and the sex workers will have to face consequences.”
