Man shot overnight at 47th Street after fight on CTA Red Line train – Chicago Tribune

A 40-year-old man was shot Tuesday night after getting into a fight on a CTA Red Line train on the South Side, Chicago police said.

About 8:10 p.m., the victim was on a train traveling north in the 200 block of West 47th Street when he became involved in a physical fight with two males as the train approached the 47th Street Station, police said.

One of the males pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the right leg. He was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

No one was in custody and detectives were investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
