CHICAGO — Memorial Day is quickly approaching, but with the recent summer-like weather, folks are already getting outside to soak up some sun.
But as people look to take advantage of the warm and sunny weather, safety can become an issue and Chicago police say they are taking steps to make sure everyone stays safe.
Officials from the Chicago Police Department say they are paying special attention to the beaches and lakefront and will also have additional resources assigned to the areas, once the beaches open on Friday.
WGN-TV’s Brónagh Tumulty spoke with some who were making the most of Tuesday’s mild weather and offered details on CPD’s plan.
