Former Miss New York USA Jaclyn Stapp, the wife of Creed frontman Scott Stapp, has filed for divorce for a third time after nearly two decades of marriage to the troubled Grammy winner.
The news comes a year after the 43-year-old model and first runner-up for 2022’s Mrs. World pageant filed her divorce petition, according to court records obtained by TMZ.
Despite previously filing for divorce in 2014 and 2022 — only to eventually backpedal both times — a spokesperson for Jaclyn confirmed to multiple outlets that she’s finally ready to move on from the 50-year-old musician after “much prayer and consideration.”
“It’s been a long battle and while this isn’t the future she envisioned, she wishes him the best,” the rep told Us Weekly. “The welfare of their children will always be her utmost concern and kindly asks for privacy during this personal time.”
The pair, who met at a New York gala for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, wed in early 2006 and share children Milan, 17, Daniel, 13, and Anthony, 9. Scott is also dad to 25-year-old Jagger through his previous marriage to Hillaree Burns.
Throughout the course of Scott’s relationship with Jaclyn, he’s dealt with numerous legal, mental and emotional struggles. He’s been accused of starting drunken brawls with other bands, was arrested for intoxication one day after their wedding and was charged with felony assault following a domestic violence incident, though that charge was later dropped.
He has also admitted to contemplating suicide multiple times. During a days-long drug binge at a Miami hotel in 2006, Scott said he jumped over his balcony, falling 40 feet and fracturing his skull.
Scott spoke about getting sober in 2015 after a psychotic break due to years of drug and alcohol abuse, which resulted in delusions and ultimately a diagnosis of bipolar disorder.
