Houston police officer opens fire, hitting male suspect on East Tidwell and Nordling Road, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation is underway after a shooting involving the Houston Police Department broke out in the Northside area on Thursday night, according to authorities.

At 9:04 p.m., the police department posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, about the shooting.

Police said a male suspect was shot after an officer opened fire near East Tidwell and Nordling Road.

First responders were called to the scene at about 8:26 p.m., according to the Houston Fire Department.

Although details are limited, HFD told ABC13 that no officers were injured but didn’t provide an update on the suspect.

It is unclear what led to the shooting, and further information has yet been provided.
