NYPD: Teen fatally stabbed in Queens, another in custody

US

A 17-year-old girl was fatally stabbed in Queens Wednesday night, and police took another 17-year-old girl into custody in connection with the incident.

According to police officials, the victim was stabbed in the neck near a 7 train station at around 9:30 p.m. near Queens Boulevard and 46th Street in Sunnyside.

First responders took her to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

NYPD officials said the investigation was ongoing, and it’s still unclear how the teen in custody was involved.

The victim’s name was not immediately released as police worked to notify her family.

Last week, a 15-year-old girl was arrested and charged with murder for allegedly stabbing and killing 17-year-old Emery Mizell at an apartment building in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx.

Police Thursday said they still didn’t have a motive for the killing.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
