Grab your umbrellas, Chicagoland. It’s going to be a rainy Thursday morning commute

US

You might want to grab an umbrella for your morning commute.

Showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain and gusty winds possible in some locations, will move through Chicagoland throughout Thursday morning. Fortunately, they aren’t expected to be severe.

Still, heavy downpours, lightning and wind speeds up to 35 or 40 miles per hour could affect some areas all the way through the morning commute.

It’s also warmer in the morning than it will be later in the day Thursday, with highs remaining in the 50s.

After several days of wet weather, Friday looks to be dry and mostly sunny, with only a chance for an isolated shower. Highs will be back in the 60s, though cooler along the lake.

Then, Mother’s Day weekend is shaping up to look very nice, with temps back into the 70s and sunshine for Sunday.
