Two women shot and wounded in Harlem

Two women were shot and wounded in Harlem Monday, police said.

Police responded to calls for shots fired at W. 144th St. near Broadway just before 8:40 p.m., cops said. When they arrived, they discovered two women, ages 63 and 29, suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were taken to Harlem Hospital where they were expected to survive.

Police were investigating what led to the shooting later Monday night.

The women were the second and third victims to be hit by gunfire in Harlem on Monday.

A 61-year-old man was shot in the face at the corner of W. 154th St. and Frederick Douglass Blvd. just before 2:05 p.m., police said.

The man was also rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was in critical, but stable, condition.

There were no immediate arrests in either shooting.
