LAMPASAS / BELL COUNTY, Texas (FOX 44) – Several cattle washed up in Stillhouse Hollow Lake after being swept away in the Lampasas River. This was due to the severe weather and flooding from last weekend.

Elsa Holm tells FOX 44 News that her husband Corey was out boating with a friend at Stillhouse Hollow Lake on Monday. Elsa says three cows were found in the water at the lake, in addition to more being found by other people. Most of the cows came from Lampasas.

Elsa says cattle were found along the Lampasas River, specifically between Youngsport and the Union Grove Campground. She tells FOX 44 News the cows her husband discovered were saved from the water and taken to land, but they have not been corralled.

Elsa’s information was shared to the Lampasas County Breaking News and Information Facebook group on Tuesday morning. A member of the group tells FOX 44 News the cattle were stuck in a massive “log jam” in the lake. Several of the cows were dead.

In addition, a member of the Coryell County Sheriff’s Office dispatch posted in another Facebook group on Tuesday morning about reports of missing cattle and livestock.

Elsa and Corey are among several people still looking for cattle. If you find any cattle or are looking for any, you can contact Elsa at (254) 458-2955.

This is a developing story. FOX 44 News will have more information as it becomes available.
