Whataburger is saying “thank you” to educators with free breakfast.
Starting Monday, May 6, teachers and school employees with a valid ID can receive a free breakfast entree at Whataburger locations nationwide, according to the Texas-based burger chain.
The offer kicks off National Teacher Appreciation Week and is valid from 5-9 a.m. local time until May 10.
No purchase is required.
Educators can choose from three options:
- Taquito
- Breakfast on a bun
- Honey butter chicken biscuit
Whataburger will also give out special WhataTeacher lanyards and award 63 teachers with a $1,000 for their respective schools, the chain said in a news release.
Started in 1984, National Teacher Appreciation Week honors those who “lend their passion and skills to educating our children,” according to the National Education Association. The National PTA designated the week to thank teachers for their contributions.
“Offering free breakfast during National Teacher Appreciation Week is just one small way we’re trying to make every school employee’s day a little brighter,” Scott Hudler, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Whataburger, said in the release.
