Eagles favored in Week 1 bout against Packers in Brazil

US

The NFL season is still months away, but that isn’t preventing you from betting on some Week 1 action.

Oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook have pegged the Eagles as 1.5-point favorites over the Packers for the season-opening game in Brazil.

FanDuel is also expecting a relatively high-scoring game with an over/under set at 48.5 points on Thursday.

Both teams will kick off the 2024 season with playoff expectations.

The Eagles are -230 to make the postseason while the Packers aren’t far behind at -160.

Philly’s slightly better postseason chances are reflected in the teams’ preseason win totals.

The Eagles are sitting at 10.5 wins at FanDuel, though a little bit of juice (-118) is on the under.

The Packers are a win lower at 9.5, but bettors are hammering the over (-138).

Philadelphia is looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2023 campaign.

After opening the season 10-1, the Eagles limped into the playoffs, losing five of their final six games, before being eliminated by the underdog Buccaneers in the wild-card round.

The Packers’ season ended on much better vibes.

Green Bay finished 9-8 during the first year of the Jordan Love era.

Betting on the NFL?

They capped off their surprising regular season campaign with a wild-card upset of the Cowboys and a near-win defeat of the eventual NFC champion 49ers a week later during the divisional round.

Vegas bookies wouldn’t be completely shocked if either team ended up with the Lombardi Trophy in February 2025.

FanDuel is giving the Eagles the seventh-best odds (+1400) to win next season’s Super Bowl.

The Packers are also fringe Super Bowl contenders with 10th-best odds (+1900).

The full season schedule could be released soon.

The league rolled out last season’s schedule in mid-May.
