Man charged in shooting that left man injured in Joliet

JOLIET, Ill. — A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting last week in Joliet that left a man injured, according to police.

The shooting happened around 12:45 a.m. Thursday near Water and Munroe streets and left a 21-year-old man injured.

On Thursday, Joliet police said Maurice Robinson Jr., 20, of Joliet, was arrested after police served a search warrant at his home in the 200 block of Munroe Street.

According to a news release from police, detectives found a loaded handgun and ammunition inside the home.

He was later charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a firearm with no FOID card and possession of ammunition with no FOID card.

He was booked into the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
