At least 19 people are dead after a highway gave way in Meizhou, a city in southern China’s Guangdong province, on Wednesday morning, state media reported.
The collapse of a 60-foot-long section of the Meizhou-Dalian Expressway caused 18 vehicles to fall down a slope. Provincial and city authorities dispatched about 500 emergency and transportation workers to the scene. At least 30 people have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
