Weekend storms and showers may linger across the state through midevening Monday, producing gusty winds, small hail and brief moderate to heavy rain, according to the National Weather Service.

Despite lingering storms, drier and warmer conditions are expected Monday throughout the state with wind gusts from 25 to 35 miles per hour in the mountains, foothills and along the Cheyenne Ridge. High temperatures will range from the 30s and 40s in the mountains to around 70 across the plains. Snow showers may briefly return to the northern mountains, mostly in Jackson, Grand and Larimer counties, in the evening as a passing storm brushes the state.
