Pflugerville ISD approves new superintendent Monday

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) — Dr. Quintin Shepherd is officially Pflugerville ISD’s newest superintendent, following approval by the district’s Board of Trustees Monday.

Shepherd has worked nearly 30 years in public education, PfISD officials said in a Monday release. Prior to coming to Pflugerville, he’s served as Victoria ISD’s superintendent since July 2018.

Before working in Texas, Shepherd also held leadership positions at schools in Iowa and Illinois. Shepherd has led as a superintendent at various districts for 18 years and previously served as a high school principal, an elementary school principal and as a Pre-K through 12th grade music teacher.

He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in educational administration and foundations at Illinois State University and currently serves on the National Superintendent’s Association Governing Board. With his employment contract now signed, he will start with the district on May 28, per the release.

“I’m deeply honored to lead such a dynamic and diverse community, and I approach this journey with an open heart and a dedicated mindset,” Shepherd said in the release. “My 100-day plan, ‘Discovering Pflugerville,’ is more than just a roadmap; it’s a commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and forward momentum. Through this plan, I aim to immerse myself in the warmth and richness of the Pflugerville ISD Pfamily.”
