Qwan’tez Stiggers, a former defensive back for the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts, is the newest member of the Jets.
Gang Green took the defensive player with the No. 176 pick in the NFL draft as they closed out the fifth round.
He spent the 2022 football season playing in the Fan Controlled Football and then moved to the Canadian Football League in 2023, where he had 53 defensive tackles and five interceptions in 16 games for the Argonauts while being named CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie.
Jets owner Woody Johnson posted that Stiggers is the first-ever CFL player drafted in NFL history.
He was the first defensive player taken by the Jets in this year’s draft.
