If it feels a little like winter to you early Thursday morning, don’t get discouraged.

Yes, the morning dawned cold and crisp, with a Freeze Warning in effect until 8 a.m. for Chicagoland’s northern counties and a Frost Advisory in effect for its southern counties. But a warm-up is coming, and quickly.

It won’t get real warm on Thursday, with easterly winds keeping highs in the low 50s along the lake, though it should get into the 60s inland. It will also get sunnier as the day goes along.

Highs get up into the 60s on Friday, then a big warm-up is coming this weekend, with highs getting close to 80 on Saturday, though there is rain in the forecast. But it looks like temps will stay in the 70s through the early part of next week.
