CHICAGO — Chicago police are searching for the person who fatally shot a CPD officer in Gage Park early Sunday morning while he was returning home from work.

On Monday afternoon, officers shared photographs and a video captured by surveillance cameras showing an individual who is believed to be connected to the deadly shooting of a CPD officer Luis M. Huesca.

Officers say the individual should be considered armed and dangerous.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting and while police have not confirmed that Huesca was the victim of a carjacking, they did say his vehicle was stolen.

Officers ask anyone who may recognize the individual to contact CPD Area One Detectives at 312-747-8380 or dial 911.

Those with information that could help authorities in their investigation can also leave a tip at CPDtip.com. Tips can be filed anonymously.

A cash reward up to $10,000 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest.
