Police are searching for a man responsible for a violent assault and robbery of a woman earlier this week in San Fernando, authorities confirmed to KTLA.

The attack occurred on April 15 on Jessie Street near Fourth Street.

Surveillance cameras that captured the assault show the victim, who had her hands full, did not see the attacker coming from behind when he violently shoved her down to the sidewalk.

The woman attempted to hold on to her purse as the suspect wrestled with her, but he was eventually able to rip it away from her and get away.

It is unclear if the woman suffered any serious injuries during the brutal attack.
