A pair of coworkers needed proof after being told they’d won the lottery, officials said.

Three coworkers pooled their money to buy multiple tickets after seeing the $1 billion Powerball jackpot, according to an April 15 news release by the Maryland Lottery.

They had no clue one of the tickets they bought in Bowie was worth $50,000, officials said.

After checking the tickets, one of the coworkers let the others know of the prize and they thought they were being pranked, officials said.

The lucky trio celebrated after learning of the April 6 win and all have different plans for their portion of the money, officials said.

One woman plans to take a vacation with her husband, another winner plans to pay her daughters’ tuition, and the other plans to save the winnings, officials said.

Bowie is about a 30-mile drive southwest of Baltimore.
